Security of the conventional cryptographic systems is based on high computing complexity of decryption of the encrypted message without the decryption key. The goal of quantum cryptography is to guarantee absolute security. It is based on the principles of quantum physics.
In this project I deal with basic principles of secure communication on the base of quantum cryptography. At first some parts of quantum physics are studied. These parts are necessary for understanding of quantum cryptography. Then I have studied BB84, B92 and six-state protocol. I have created a program, which illustrates basic principles of quantum cryptography on the protocols BB84 and B92. Finally I have studied technological challenges of quantum cryptography realisation. In this part I have targeted mainly the single photon source, the quantum channels and the single photon detection.
